What is the Christian Walk?

What does it mean to be a Christian?  When you say that you’re a Christian, what does that mean?  What is it supposed to look like?

The theme of this blog is basically about that, walking through the Christian life and the cornerstone verse is Romans 6:4

. . . as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

Being a Christian is not just thinking Jesus was a good guy and had some good ideas.  It’s not even just about recognizing that he is the promised Messiah, the Savior of the world, who redeemed us through his blood of atonement.

The Christian walk, the Kingdom of Heaven, is about being so sold out that we see his face above all else.

When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek. ~ Psalm 27:8 KJV

We are to be all in.

Thankful for the Fast Yes’s

Thursdays are usually my thankful posts, but there has been so much this week and I want to talk about another post tomorrow.  What has been absolutely amazing to me is just how many answered prayers I’ve seen over the past of weeks.

Big stuff .  . . fast yes’s.

What is a Fast Yes?

God answers prayer all the time, but sometimes our idea of the right timing is not His.  We are to pray according to His will, not ours and that doesn’t always look the way we expect.

An answer to prayer can be:

  • Yes
  • No
  • Not yet.

Discerning the Presence of the Holy Spirit

As believers, our first step on the path to growing our gift is to be able to discern the presence of the Holy Spirit.  He has a tangible presence and we should recognize him when he comes.

We should also invite his presence.  One of my pastors, Pastor Quanidos, says, “The Holy Spirit is a gentleman.  He won’t come in if we don’t ask.”

The fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, and peace, and that is what he brings with his presence.
