“How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand?” Psalm 13:2

At times it seems like God is not there. We can believe in Jesus, have experienced his presence, and seen God work in our lives previously, but there come times when it seems as if God is silent. We wonder if he has forgotten about us. We look to the promises of God that are found throughout the #Bible and ask ourselves, “Why am I not seeing this? Why isn’t God answering?”

David was a man after God’s own heart and he too experienced the dark night of the soul, more than once. He did not give up though. He continued to cry out to God, to press in, and to seek His Face.

These are the times when fear and its brother doubt will knock on your door. Send them packing. Say, as Jesus said when temptation arose, “Get behind me Satan.” (Matthew 16:23)
