Who can redeem us except for God alone? None can redeem even our own thoughts, let alone the sins of our lives without the grace of God.

Our thoughts are limited in scope. He is omniscient. (Psalm 147:5)

Our words destroy. His bring life.

When we follow his plan, often it will not make sense because the greater plan is beyond our understanding. Even the tiny smidge we see is beyond our ken.

If we think we have it figured out, it probably isn’t God.

Prayer for God’s Will to be Done

However, as we walk in faith, we can begin to learn what his work looks like. We can say:

I don’t know what you are doing God or why this is happening but I know you are working in this situation and I trust you to bring about your plan. A plan that is for my good and not disaster, to give me a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Only you could bring this situation to good. It is for your glory. (Romans 8:28)
Psalm 138-8, the Lord will perfect that which concerns me

Complete your work in me. Perfect the works of your hands. (Psalm 138:8)

Like the father who wanted healing for his son but knew he didn’t have the faith to believe – Give me faith. (Mark 9:23-25)

Give me a confident assurance that your lovingkindness endures forever. (Psalm 136:1)

Not only does it endure for me forever, but it is for me today. (Isaiah 49:8, 2 Corinthians 6:2)
