The purpose of Raised to Walk is to further the Kingdom of God.  The topics are those that the Holy Spirit is highlighting for me at the time, either through studying his word, issues that are going on in our world, people that I encounter, or experiences of God.  In other words, it is a blog, an ongoing and contemporaneous conversation.  The topics vary, but it is always from a Christian perspective.

We Are Raised to Walk

The name of the web site refers to Romans 6:4:

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

When we believe in Christ as Lord and Savior, we are transformed . . . We become a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). While our salvation is in that moment and is complete with nothing left to be done (Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 Corinthians 7:23, John 19:30), the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives begins. As we walk with Christ, he changes our thoughts, mind, and attitudes (Romans 12:2, Hebrews 12:1-2). The more we submit to him, the more clearly the image of Jesus is seen in our life.

“Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.” Luke 11:36

That is the focus of the site, learning to get out of the way to allow the Holy Spirit to do the house cleaning.

I write to Christians. If you are not a Christian, you are still welcome to participate in the discussion but some things just won’t make sense unless you are standing on the foundation of Christ as Savior. It is a different worldview, a different focus, and a different goal.

When You Disagree

The articles on this site represent my personal beliefs. My church, affiliations, and friends may not agree with me in certain areas. You may not either and are free to disagree. I just ask that if you would like to debate an issue that you provide a logical reason and document your sources supporting your position. A link to a Youtube video is usually not a source.

If you do want to refer to a video, please summarize the statement or position and provide a timestamp for where the reference is made. If the video creator is not a primary source, please include what source they are referencing. (If you can’t find their source, there is probably a reason for that.) Videos are very time consuming to sift through for information and I’d rather read my information than watch it. If it isn’t a video on healing or dream interpretation I probably won’t spend the time.

Thank you for visiting Raised to Walk.
