Detailed Show Notes

Introduction: The Hacked Saga Continues

Timestamp: [00:00:16 – 00:04:06]

Hey everybody, I’m Carla with Raised to Walk, and it is time for another episode in “Hacked: the Saga.’ I originally started my channel back in 2013 when I started my blog raisedtowalk.org, but I started publishing regularly on YouTube in 2019 when I was publishing Bible studies and book reviews. My tagline was “sharing good thoughts about good words.”

The words were so good that people stole them. That led to an entire series of updates about discovering what was going on. At first I didn’t know why anybody would steal or be sabotaging me, hacking and threatening and sabotaging me.

“These were people from the apologetics program that I knew. They literally went to school to defend the Christian faith and then they’re acting like a bunch of reprobates”

Carla Sallee Alvarez

Over time, from August of 2024 to today, I realized that it was people that I knew that was doing this. In the beginning it was really weird to me because I’m thinking, you know, you say you’re Christians. These were people from the apologetics program that I knew. They literally went to school to defend the Christian faith and then they’re acting like a bunch of reprobates.

It was hard for me to process that in the beginning, just wrapping my head around the fact that these people that I knew would do this. Just in the past week, I realized that that’s basically the entire story of the Bible, isn’t it? It’s talking about how God has given grace to us and we blow it a lot and we take things for granted.

We take that grace for granted. We take things that God has given us for granted. We take our gifts for granted. It is grace that allows us to recognize that.

The past couple months I’ve really been thinking about the book of Jude. If you have read that book, go ahead and read it. Or if you haven’t, go ahead and read it. It’s only one chapter. Jude is talking to Christians and warning them about wolves in sheep’s clothing. These false teachers, when they come among you in your fellowship meals, they’re like dangerous reefs that are just going to shipwreck your faith.

It shouldn’t surprise me that these things are going on because this has been going on since the very beginning of the church. This is just another example of that. People have to decide who they are and what it is that they want to be and where it is that they want to end up. I can hope that they make better decisions and better choices, but I can’t make them do that.

What I Wish I’d Known: Documentation Mistakes to Avoid

Timestamp: [00:04:06 – 00:06:16]

That is what this entire saga is about. This is episode number 68. I literally cannot even believe that I have been livestreaming this long about this situation. One of the things that I’m going to be covering today is things I wish I had done in the beginning on documenting what it was that was happening.

A couple weeks ago, I started to switch gears a little bit and talk about how you can defend yourself against people who are trying to steal your work, trying to steal your identity, trying to steal your influence, your relationships, your business, whatever it is. You may think, “Oh, I’m sure that sounds a little extreme. I don’t think that’s going on.”

It’s probably happening to you. I know what’s happening to me. I’m not unique in this.

They didn’t just suddenly come up with all of these different plays that they do to attack me. These are things that they have already been doing. Some of the things are, like I said last week, like a chamber of commerce for criminals. They just know people in different areas. If they don’t know somebody, they compromise somebody or get somebody on their payroll to bribe or they get a contractor that can do a certain thing.

It’s nothing new. The collection of things that have been done to me might be a little extreme. I hope they are. I certainly hope they are, but I don’t think they’re unique.

The Investigative Dossier Game-Changer

Timestamp: [00:06:16 – 00:13:59]

What we’re going to be talking about today is creating an investigative dossier. I talked about this last week. I came across this resource on mediahelpingmedia.org, which is basically a training site for journalists and also for trainers who train journalists.

It was a game changer. It was like a light bulb moment. I can’t even explain to you because I have been documenting this since actually December of 2023 is when I started documenting it. But I have literally tens of thousands of screenshots. I have written so many words in all these different reports that I’ve done to different authorities and I have so much it’s almost overwhelming.

This investigative dossier basically shows how I can organize it and make it usable information. Sometimes I’ll come back across a note that I made or a past report or a screenshot and I’m thinking, oh yeah, that happened. But this is so amazing.

Last week I was sharing about that and what I’ve been doing in the past week is I’ve been basically starting to implement it and also researching. This would be a resource for a news story obviously, but what I really want to do it for is to have documentation for a court case because I’m going to file lawsuits against every single person I can that I possibly can.

I wanted to make sure that am I including the information that I should. As I’ve been researching I discovered that I really haven’t been keeping a lot of necessary information, even though I think I’ve been documenting thoroughly. This is what we’re going to cover today.

“Sometimes it’s like a chamber of commerce for criminals. They just know people in different areas, or they compromise somebody or get somebody on their payroll to bribe or get a contractor”

Why Average People Are Targets

Timestamp: [00:13:59 – 00:19:44]

This is an overview of the approach. One of the things that I realized was that there’s a lot of people that know me or they know of me or they follow my channel or whatever, that probably think, “Well, that’s not going to happen to me because I’m not that important, I’m not that big, I’m not whatever.” That’s the thing that’s wrong with that way of thinking.

You don’t have to be famous. You don’t have to have a huge following. You don’t have to be a big brand for people to basically want to steal your work or your identity or your influence, whatever it is that you have that they want. If you have a job, if you have a profession, if you have expertise, there’s a lot of different things that people will take advantage of.

The main focus of this was, like I said, the investigative dossier which was basically a training for journalists to basically put together a news story. The principles are the same. You have to have facts. You have to have, you know, this happened on this day. You need to be able to back up what your claims are.

I’m really big on going on offense. I’m not talking about like attacking somebody. I’m talking about just, you know, don’t just be on defense and trying to keep yourself safe. Go on offense. Get the evidence. Get the information. Get the support that you’re going to need if you need to file a lawsuit. That’s what this is all about.

“MediaHelpingMedia.org was a game changer. It was like a light bulb moment. I can’t even explain to you because I have been documenting since December 2023, but I have literally tens of thousands of screenshots”

Creating Your Investigative Dossier System

Timestamp: [00:19:44 – 00:28:50]

This is from the mediahelpingmedia.org. I’m going to be implementing this structure into what I’ve already been doing. I basically have, like I said, thousands of screenshots. I have all these different things. I’ve written down all these notes. I’ve made reports.

What this does is it basically gives you a structure to where you can have facts that you have, notes that you have about your observations, links to any resources that you can go, images, everything. It’s basically a chronology, which in my head I’ve got a chronology, but what I don’t have is a structure in which that I have all the supporting information basically hyperlinked or referenced in one place.

It’s the organization part that is so vital. I realized I probably have everything that I need, but because I don’t have it in an organized fashion, it’s not a resource. It’s, you know, I don’t know where it’s at. I have to remember stuff. I literally have to remember and then I go search for it.

This takes that and it turns it around to where you can actually have something that’s organized, that’s usable, that you can actually reference and you can say, “Okay, yeah, this is what happened. Here’s the evidence to support it.”

The Proton Suite: Privacy-Focused Tools

Timestamp: [00:28:50 – 00:43:44]

One of the things that I’m going to be implementing this in is Proton Sheets. Now, Proton is basically a privacy-focused email and ecosystem. They have Proton Mail. They have Proton Calendar. They have Proton Drive for file storage. They have Proton Pass, which is their password manager. And they have Proton Sheets.

Proton Sheets is basically like Google Sheets, but it’s privacy focused and it’s based in Switzerland. The reason that I’m choosing to do it in Proton Sheets is because the people that are doing this are literally federal contractors. I have realized as I’ve gone through all the different ways that they have gotten into my stuff, that there were federal resources that were involved in the hacking of my stuff. That’s not surprising because the people that are doing it are federal contractors.

That’s why you’ll see a lot of things about Proton because that’s what I’m using because it’s privacy focused. You’re not going to have the federal government or their contractors in your stuff because they’re out.

Creating Your Digital Toolkit

Timestamp: [00:43:44 – 00:55:44]

This is just an overview. This is going to be up on my website in a couple of days probably with the beginning of this. This just gives you an overview of what to do, how to document it, kind of some step-by-step things.

One of the things that was really important: The best practice is to take a screenshot of like your entire screen. I wasn’t doing that. Literally was not doing it. It also talks about how you can hash your files that you’re documenting so that you can confirm that the files aren’t altered.

I didn’t know that was a thing until this week. That’s what this is—a three minute hash. Generate a hash, not a hashtag. This is going to be the digital toolkit for defense against digital dark arts.

Current Threat Landscape

Timestamp: [00:55:44 – 00:57:07]

There’s been some session hijacking this week. It hasn’t been—I don’t know. I think maybe for normal people it probably would seem like there’s been a lot. I’ve had my sessions hijacked to my accounts to get into my Gmail account. But I mean it’s just like at this point it’s just so redundant. They do the same things over and over again.

Relatively speaking there hasn’t been a lot of new stuff. I don’t think. I’ll have to go back and look at my notes. There’s been so much I forget sometimes, which is why this investigative dossier is going to be really helpful.

I’m kind of a little bit excited about this because I have all this information and as I add it, I’m going to have something that’s actually usable for multiple things.

“That’s why you’ll see a lot of things about Proton because that’s what I’m using because it’s privacy focused because you’re not going to have the federal government or their contractors in your stuff”

Join the Effort

Timestamp: [00:57:07 – 00:59:22]

I hope you’ll join me in this. I hope you’ll say, “Yeah, you know what? I don’t like jackasses that think they can do what they want and so I’m gonna do what I can do to help in this effort.”

You can submit it to IC3. That’s the FBI massive crime database that you can submit online. I personally think it’s worthless. It’s just my personal opinion. When I submitted that 200 page report on July 28th, 2024, that’s a significant date actually, I never got a response. Never got a response. Not even an acknowledgement or a report number. Not impressed at all.

If you want to report it to the FBI, you can, but I personally don’t know.

Newsletter and Resources

If you want to get updates about what’s going on, if you want to get notification of when this toolkit is available for download on my website, you can go to my website at resources.raisedtowalk.org. That is my newsletter sign up.

You can also see the past newsletters that I’ve sent since November 1st is when I first sent it on this particular mailing service. I basically had to restart my mailing list because I don’t even know what was going on with the one I had before and there had been so much sabotage that I didn’t want to be using anything old. I am just starting from scratch.

Having said that, if you sign up for the newsletter, make sure that you watch for the confirmation email. If you don’t see it, check your spam box because if you don’t confirm your email, then I can’t do it for you. I have looked in my unconfirmed list and there’s quite a few people in there.

Here’s the thing. They were hijacking my email signups in some way. If you want to make sure that what you’re receiving is actually from me, then go to resources.raisedtowalk.org and you’ll see all the newsletters that I’ve sent. If you’ve received things that aren’t showing on that page there, then that is somebody that has impersonated me.

I would appreciate it if you would let me know.

Platform Independence and Community Plans

What I’m planning on doing is I don’t think I’m going to even have an option for Discord for discussion on this. I had a link to Discord, but it really wasn’t used. Discord is going through some changes—they’re going to be requiring a lot more identity verification, which I just don’t think is necessary. Personally I think that’s a control thing. I just don’t think that needs to be on everything.

I’m just going to be adding a comment feature on my site and integrating that into a discussion forum so it can be more like a community oriented discussion rather than just commenting on that one post.

Wrapping Up

That’s it for today. We talked a little bit about creating an investigative dossier using Proton Sheets. Be sure to sign up for my newsletter at resources.raisedtowalk.org so you can be the first that can download that digital toolkit with all the resources on best practices for doing that.

If you’re a creator, if you just are a person that has some friends that other people want to steal your identity to impersonate you, you may not think that you actually are at risk, but you might be surprised at just the conniving ways people will go to manipulate.

A lot of wolves out there. Got to be on guard.

I guess we’ll sign off and talk to you next time.
