Awesome interview with the author of In The Dark of War with insights on tribalism, the importance of relationships, and the long-term, wide-ranging, detached incompetence of the @StateDept What she describes in Libya is the same incompetence in 🇦🇫 https://t.co/SXMLRGlxvK

The Afghanistan After Action Report
The Afghanistan After Action Report is underwhelming. Its a half ass job looking into a political landmine & strategic failure no one wants to touch with a 10 foot pole. There has never been any accountability. Elected/appointed officials and executive departments/agencies failed

Biden calls the Taliban our partners against Al Quaeda
The leader of Al Qaida was staying in a apartment owned by the Taliban Minister of the Interior when the U.S. sent a missile through the balcony window to kill him with no help from the Taliban.
Also, it didn’t address the question about the withdrawal report because it’s toxic. https://t.co/NbFCriRcqL

I am disgusted by Biden's lies about al Qaida in Afghanistan and his insistence that the Taliban are HELPING the US when they have never proven trustworthy, continue to harbor terrorists, target their enemies for death, and strip women of their rights https://t.co/tuqSWCzcHW

23:08- The history of democracy in Afghanistan
The history of democracy in Afghanistan
– Afghanistan got a democratic constitution in *1964*
– Afghan Women got the right to vote before women in Switzerland
– The legends about the first Afghan King say that he was *elected*And yet I keep hearing democracy in Afghanistan was "imposed" by the West after 2001.

The fight for the Afghan republic
From 2014 to 2021, 127 US and coalition troops lost their lives in Afghanistan.
During the same period, more than 50.000 Afghan soldiers died too, fighting the same enemy as us.
And yet, feckless charlatans claim the Afghans weren't willing to fight for their country.

The loss in Afghanistan was unnecessary
🇦🇫THREAD:
There was no reason why the Taliban should have won in 2021.
Much has been said about the chaotic evacuation from Afghanistan in 2021, and how it might have been done differently.
The far more important point is how we could have avoided an evacuation at all.

🇦🇫 If the lies about Afghan forces not being willing to fight had been true, the Afghan Republic would have fallen in 2014.
From then to 2021, they did 99% of the fighting, taking tens of thousands of casualties.
But in 2020-21, we pulled the plug on them for political reasons. pic.twitter.com/cBoTOK9Umo

And in our failure to recognize that Afghanistan had not at all "always been that way" lay the seed of the fatalism that led to the defeat of the Republic.
The loss of Afghanistan's history also led to the unraveling of its future. 🇦🇫9/9 pic.twitter.com/Fr4D9oynBX

The push to repeat the disaster in Afghanistan in Ukraine
What vatnik peaceniks like @davidsacks are really arguing for is a Doha-deal for Ukraine.
That means they are either too dumb to understand the ethical and strategic catastrophe of of handing victory to someone like the Taliban or Putin, or they are too morally bankrupt to care. pic.twitter.com/EVFnK3MHew

31:35- The Destruction of Detachment
“But the man-moulders of the new age will be armed with the powers of an omnicompetent state and an irresistible scientific technique; we shall get at last a race of conditioners who really can cut out all posterity in what shape they please . . . It is not that they are bad men. They are not men at all. Stepping outside the Tao, they have stepped into the void. Nor are their subjects necessariy unhappy men. They are not men at all: they are artefacts. Man’s final conquest has proved to be the abolition of Man. Abolition of Man, C.S. Lewis

On the imago Dei: The imago Dei and Human Dignity
https://www.resurrectionchurch.com/imagodei
Definition: The imago dei or the image of God is the theological truth that all humanity has the Creator God’s image stamped on them. Although there is some mystery surrounding this concept, we know one thing for certain: being made in the image of God separates humanity from the rest of creation. Being image-bearers means that all humanity – all children (in the womb or out of the womb) and adults (however old), all men and women, all ethnicities and people groups, all able and disabled, all incarcerated and free people – have inherent and equal dignity, value, and worth. Humans do not earn their dignity and value through work, culture, government, or society; rather, their dignity, value, and worth is given directly by God. (“The imago Dei and Human Dignity, Resurrection Church)
mankind so that we can grow into an eternal communion with Him. While theologians have long debated what imago Dei means, this paper will describe the teleological explanation of Irenaeus
of Lyons which gives the church its impetus today: to form a people like God, that is, to shape us into the character of Christ
